When Peggy Sonnenburg of Valders had trouble finding full-flavored snacks that werenโt full of refined sugar, she took the challenge head-on and founded โPeggy Bakesโ. Now, after just a year of operation, the Sheboygan native will enjoy a greater presence in the area by expanding her production at the commercial kitchens of Nourish Farms in Sheboygan Falls, a non-profit promoter of good-food education and experiences, sustainability, and community engagement.
Peggy Bakes produces its signature granola products using unique recipes and employing carefully-chosen ingredients like Montmorency cherries, French cocoa, fresh lemon zest, and Wisconsin-made maple syrup and honey.

Sonnenberg has been both a consistent supporter and a volunteer at Nourish Farms, and says that making her products on-site will help Nourish generate additional revenue for its educational programs, while enabling large-scale production for her small-batch goods.
Peggy Bakesโ headquarters will remain in Manitowoc County, while its expansion here was made possible by assistance from the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation. The growth will mean an expanded footprint in over 20 states, and will fulfill the increasing demand for its granola already being experienced here in Wisconsin.
