Traffic was backed up for miles on I-43 Northbound between Oostburg and Sheboygan on Thursday afternoon as a pair of crashes occurred within just one mile of each other,
The Sheboygan County Sheriffโs Office says the first accident sent a semi into the cable barrier in the median, blocking the left lane of traffic near Mile Marker 120. Just a short time later a 4-car crash south of the original accident scene blocked the remaining lanes. The northbound interstate was already showing increased volume due to traffic heading toward Green Bayโs NFL Draft event, forcing detours for many heading that direction, while making the remaining 70 miles to Green Bay an excruciating wait for those already stuck in the backup while crews cleaned up the results.
Deputies say there were no major injuries in either of the crashes.
