The Sheboygan County real estate market performed better than many surrounding counties in March, but overall negative market pressure is still evident in many aspects.
According to figures released on Thursday by the Wisconsin Realtors Association, the median price of a home in Sheboygan County was $279,950 in March, essentially the same as one year ago. All other Southeast Region counties saw increases. At the same time, higher interest rates were blamed in part for a decline in sales, with Sheboygan County realtors selling 8% fewer units compared to 2024.
Increases were seen in both the inventory โ Sheboygan County has a 2.6 month inventory, up 13% over last year โ as well as in the average days on the market. A home here took an average of 78 days to sell, up from 56 days last year, and at 39.3%, increased the most within the region.
Among surrounding counties, the most expensive homes were found in Ozaukee County where it now costs an average of $475,000 to buy a home. Manitowoc County homes sold for an average $205,000 in March, the lowest price in the area.
