An auto dealership name not represented in eastern Wisconsin since 1939 has returned 86 years later with the acquisition of three Sheboygan dealerships. Dahl Automotive, based in the LaCrosse area, purchased the three businesses previously operated by International Autos on its North 40th Street Campus off Kohler Memorial Drive near I-43. The three, consisting of Toyota, Subaru and Honda, are expected to continue operation without interruption, as employment has been extended to all previous International Auto employees, and with no layoffs planned.

Dahl Automotive President, Andrew Dahl, said that they were excited to welcome almost 60 new team members to the Dahl Automotive family. He said that the acquisition aligned with their growth strategy of “…entering midsize markets, partnering with great brands, and positively impacting the team, their families, and the Sheboygan Community.”
Dahl Automotive is a family-owned, 114-year-old business, one of the oldest auto groups in the US under continuous family ownership, and which last had dealerships in this region from 1920 to 1939. With the return to Sheboygan, the Dahl Automotive Group grows to 14 dealerships in Minnesota and Wisconsin, representing 12 brands and employing over 600 team members.
