A vacancy on the Washington County Circuit Court has prompted the Evers administration to appeal for applicants qualified to fill the vacancy created by the pending retirement of Judge James K. Muehlbauer, effective on August 8th this year. The new judge will complete the term that ends on July 31, 2026. According to Ballotpedia, Muehlbauer was first appointed to the position by Governor Jim Doyle in 2007, was elected in 2008 and has served ever since.
In order to fill the pending vacancy, Governor Evers has announced a search for applicants.
Those interested in applying for the position must email a completed application form with supporting materials no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, June 9th, 2025.
