Getting rid of some things isn’t as easy as just tossing it in the trash…but Sheboygan County is trying to make it almost that easy. The next collection of hazardous household waste and agriculture chemicals takes place this Friday and Saturday at two locations. The events, held several times each year since 2001, have enabled the proper disposal of over 1-1/2 million pounds of hazardous waste to date.
On Friday the Maywood Environmental Park will host the collection between 1 and 4:30 p.m., while Saturday’s collection takes place at the Sheboygan County Highway Department Shed in Cascade between 8 and 11 a.m.
The fees are $20 per vehicle with hazardous household waste only, or pay $40 to dispose of up to six electronic items with, or without hazardous household waste. If you’re planning to attend on Saturday in Cascade you’ll want to check maps ahead of time since Highway 28 is blocked in the Village, and you’ll want to check what is, or isn’t accepted on the County’s Clean Sweep website.
