Shoreline Metro
Riders of Shoreline Metro are likely to be spending a bit more for their rides beginning next year. The local public transit operator will have its proposals reviewed in a public hearing next month and a public comment period is now open until Tuesday, July 8th at 4 p.m. The public hearing will commence at 5:00 that day at City Hall.
The proposal suggests increasing nearly all fares anywhere from around 12% for the single ride Cash Fare pass from its present $1.75 to $2.00, up to 20% increases for the 6-Pack Day and Monthly Passes. The Student Punch Pass would remain at $11.00, and a new 30-day Pass would be available through the HotSpot app only for $45.00. Other changes are included in the table below:

Shoreline Metro said that the increases are necessary to combat reduced funding and increased expenses, especially post-pandemic as federal COVID relief funds run out.
