The annual, local celebration of June Dairy Month in Wisconsin is a family favorite as Breakfast on the Farm is held on Saturday. This year’s event will be held at Double Dutch Dairy just northwest of Cedar Grove on Hoitink Road, rain-or-shine, from 7 AM until noon.
This year’s menu includes scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, cheese, yogurt, milk, coffee, and yes, ice cream is for breakfast…on the farm, at least.
Adult admission is $10 with kids ages 3-6 charged $5 each, while those 2 and under are free, and the first 100 kids 10 and under get a free t-shirt.
While there’s plenty to eat and do, like the Moo Mania Comedy Show, pony rides and a petting zoo, the event is also designed to keep city folks familiar with what it takes to put food on the table from the ground-up. That will come through wagon tours, farm equipment displays, and talking with the family that will introduce themselves to you in the food tent at 8 and 10 AM.
So for a real farm breakfast, bring the family to Double Dutch Dairy on Saturday morning…but please, leave the pets at home because there are no dogs allowed at breakfast!
