Word of more damage from Thursday night thunderstorms sent National Weather Service investigators to Sheboygan County on Friday. A severe thunderstorm formed northwest of Sheboygan County at around 8 p.m. and slammed into Kohler, Sheboygan Falls and Sheboygan around 8:30. Shortly after it hit Sheboygan a tree was blown down onto a home on South 12th Street near Roosevelt Park.
Investigators were drawn to reports of damage in Sheboygan Falls, about 4 miles southwest of Howards Grove where it was determined that downburst winds gusting to around 70 mph had buckled a garage door to one outbuilding, while a second outbuilding had the garage door completely blown in and the roof partially peeled off and blown to the southeast. Multiple trees in the area were also damaged, one of them uprooted, and all trending in a southeastern direction. No monetary estimate of the damage was offered.
