Those finding themselves in a housing crisis will have a chance to get a haircut, lunch and a shower on Friday. That’s thanks to the efforts of several organizations that are bringing “Showers of Hope” to Sheboygan, a mobile shower unit operated by Street Angels of Milwaukee. The event is being arranged by the Sheboygan County Food Bank. Kohler Company is a sponsor of the Street Angels’ mobile shower unit, and the Community Cafe of the Sheboygan County Warming Center will supply lunch from 11:30 AM until 1 PM. Hair cuts will be offered for the duration of the event.
Street Angels said that the mobile shower trailer program is designed to provide dignity on wheels to the homeless community, and anyone who’s having difficulty getting a hot shower or accessing an ADA-compliant facility is welcome to use the program.
The visit of the mobile unit will start at 11:00 at St. Luke United Methodist Church at 6th and Ontario Avenue in Sheboygan. That location hosts the Sheboygan County Warming Center during the winter months, but is usually idle this time of year.
