College instructors normally use books, but two local faculty members have had their original works published.
Lakeshore College’s Vice President of Instruction, Dr. Meredith Sauer, said that “Lakeshore College is excited to congratulate Emilie Lindemann and Mark Lorier regarding the release of their new books.” She added that “Having their work published is a huge accomplishment and speaks to the caliber of expertise they bring to their respective fields and the classroom.”
Emilie Lindemann, a member of Lakeshore’s Communications faculty, had her book “Ghost(ed) Woman & the Electric Purple Pants” published by Fresh Water Press of Two Rivers. The small paperback booklet contains poetry and explores the distortion of time during the COVID-19 pandemic and the period that followed.
Machining Faculty member Mark Lorier authored the book “Blueprint Reading”. WisTech Open, the Wisconsin Technical College System’s hub for openly licensed educational resources, published his work earlier this month. Lorier said that his book “…was created to be clear, approachable and aligned with the kinds of work students will actually do.”
Both titles are now available online. Lindemann’s book info can be found at freshwaterpressllc.com, while Lorier’s work is available through wistechopen.org
