Forecasters with the National Weather Service have refined their advisories concerning hot weather that’s expected over the next two days.
A Heat Advisory remains in effect for all of southern Wisconsin, including Sheboygan County, from 11 AM until 8 PM today. With limited benefit from Lake Michigan, the heat index in the City of Sheboygan itself may be limited to the 90s. However, inland parts of the county will probably feel like more than 100 degrees, and a few spots in southern Wisconsin could feel as hot as 106 degrees. While the mid-60 degree water of Lake Michigan might seem inviting, Sheboygan County beaches are expecting life-threatening waves of 3-4 feet, and people are advised to stay out of the water from noon through the evening hours today.

Temps aren’t expected to drop below 70 overnight, but Thursday’s heat indices north of a Port Washington to Janesville line should remain in the mid-upper 90s, providing a little relief here. But other areas will be vulnerable to another heat advisory tomorrow.
