The offensive line is still expected to be a high priority for Green Bay packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst at next week’s NFL draft after letting go David Bakhtiari, Jon Runyan and Yosh Nijman this off-season. Gutekunst added some veteran insurance Thursday by signing five year veteran free agent Andre Dillard. The 6-5, 315 pound offensive tackle was a former number one draft choice of the Philadelphia Eagles out of Washington State, taken 22nd overall in 2019. His career never took off in Philadelphia because of injuries. He missed all of his second season with a torn biceps, in 2021, the COVID-19 bug caught him and he had to sit out seven weeks. A broken foreman in training camp had him start the 2022 season on injured reserve. The Eagles chose not to resign Dillard who wound up with the Tennessee Titans last year. He started 10 games at left tackle before poor play sent him to the bench, giving up a league high 12 sacks and 41 pressures. The Packers hope Dillard will come in to both push and mentor young starting tackles Rasheed Walker and Zach Tom. The NFL Draft begins in Detroit next Thursday with round one. The Packers have the 25th overall selection and 11 picks over the seven rounds.
